Really excited!!

So I'm getting really excited and even though it's not offical, I can't keep it in anymore. Since I signed the contract on my condo, I've been thinking about getting another dog to be my guard dog. I've always loved German Shepherds and if you remember my Sandy (who was a partial German Shepherd) he was the most loyal and protective dog I've ever had.

So, my brother was talking to a friend at his work and found out that this friend needed to give away 2 German Shepherds because of a combined family situation where they now have 10 dogs!!! At first we were very wary because living in a condo and not a house, the dog would have to be bark trained and already house broken. I couldn't get a puppy or an extremely excited dog that couldn't take the sometime 12-13 hours I would be at work. But I contacted them.

I gave them very detailed information about the type of dog I needed/wanted, and we talked on the phone. One of the 2 dogs they said wouldn't work, he was not even one yet and was very hyper. But the other one, Athena, they thought would be perfect.

Meet Athena!!

This Wednesday she turns 3 years old. A beautiful German Shepherd, already spade and house broken. She's said to be very protective of her owners and weary of strange men. They say she usually is very calm throughout the day but will play with all the energy in the world if I'd let her. 75 lbs. of BEAUTIFUL German Shepherd. In two weeks I get to meet her, and if we seem to click in person, I'll get to take her home.

It's not over there, she still has to meet my baby Binky and make sure the two of them can not only get along but in small spaces. I'll have to make sure that she doesn't tear things up or be unable to hold her bladder for 12hrs. And the three of us have got to just click. Living in that tiny 1 bedroom condo with two dogs can't work unless we all three get along great.

So keep Athena, Binky, and me in your prayers. Pray that I won't get too attached too quickly and keep a level head on to evaluate how she works out with my family.

But I had to share the news!!

Oh, Val! How precious! So excited for you!!

P.S. To respond to your post on my blog...I did see the key lime pie, but I didn't tast it. If I'd known it was yours, I probably would have eaten some.

And we were at the karoake night. It was fun! And no, Sam didn't sing. :-) Not sure why?!?!
