Part 3 of 3

Matthew 7:7-12
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

Ok, so now a little more up-beat than the previous two posts. I'll stop analyzing how I have been doing wrong and look at what I can be doing. Asking God for my innermost desires. Instead of worrying about things, I'm going to give them to God. I will ask Him for guidence, grace, and peace. Instead of judging others, I will ask God to care for them and bless them.

For my high school graduation, a wonderful elder and his wonderful wife gave me the book, "The Prayer of Jabez" by Dr. Bruce Wilkinson. I thanked them and the put it with the rest of my books and just recently got it out to finally read it. Although I've just started it and have not got very far into it, I have already discovered that it is ok, it's not selfish, and God wants me to ask God for my desires. If we don't ask God for them than how can He give us our blessings? So, I'm going to start asking Him to take care of my worries and judgements! (I hope this doesn't sound really corny). Thanks for your previous comments!

It doesn't sound corny at all! God's Spirit works in us as we allow it to. By asking God for help, His Spirit can work more fully in us.

Yeah, Val. I agree. I think God wants to know all of us - desires, anger, needs/wants, hurt, and then of course, our love for Him.
