And where are all the guys? Where's the streetwise hercules..... (for those of you who don't know that song it is "Holding out for a Hero" recorded by Bonnie Tyler also in the Broadway show Footloose)
Well I figured I'd write in response to my friend Dave's post from yesterday's blog.
In this day and age (or maybe it's this area) I have found it is really difficult to find a good single Christian man. I don't feel comfortable (nor do I think it is statistically likely to come in contact with a good guy) looking in a bar or club. I know we can always look in our immediate surroundings (school, work, and of course church) however, that may not be fesable either. If you are in a program at school like I am, you are with the same 30 or so people (6 of which are males, three of those are married, two are gay and the final is not an option). Work presents two problems that I see (obviouslly Dave you are exempt from this first), most work places do not like their employees being romantically involved, and second if the guy doesn't happen to be there again you are limited to a finite group. Finally church, there are so many churches in this area and short of "trying out" every church until you find the "right one".
So short of signing up for online dating, how do we have the contact with good single Christian men? How can we be proactive and facilitate meeting between good single Christian women and good single Christian men?
I was watching 7th Heaven the other evening and they had a good ol' fashion church social, where the entire church came and brought a single guy. It was a good idea but it wouldn't work here. So how can we modify that idea and make it work for this day and age and area? Or do you all have better ideas or have you been to better events. Let me know.
Smile!!! ;-)

Val, there are tons of churches with singles events in this area. Find one of those and you'll meet men. No promise they'll be the right men. :-)
Marry my son. That would relieve my mind greatly.
